About

What ClapAssist is, and what it will never be

ClapAssist is a desktop app that listens to your live video interview on your own computer and shows you what to say, written from your own resume. This page says plainly who makes it, how it is paid for, and where the limits are.

Support answers by email and WhatsApp. No chatbots, no ticket numbers.
The product

One small bar above your interview call

ClapAssist runs on Mac and Windows. During a video interview on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or any other call, it hears the question, reads your resume and the job description, and shows a short answer: one sentence to say first, then the points behind it. Only you see it. The window is left out of screen shares and recordings by the operating system itself, and the app never joins the call, so nothing new appears in the participant list.

It is sold as passes you pay for once. There is no subscription and nothing renews. Every account starts with 10 free minutes, one time, with no card asked for. The full plan list is on the pricing page.

Who makes it

A small independent team, not a funded startup

ClapAssist is built and supported by a small team that started it as FreeLY in 2026 and renamed it ClapAssist in August 2026. The same people write the app, answer support and make the pricing decisions. There is no sales team and no investor deck. The business is paid for by the passes people buy, which is why the prices are one-time and stay low.

Because interviews happen on a schedule, support is meant to be fast and human. Write to support@clapassist.com or message WhatsApp +91 92298 81892. Say which system you are on, what you clicked and what happened.

What stays on your computer

Your resume, notes and recaps never reach our servers

  • Your resume, the job description and your notes are stored on your own device.
  • Interview audio is processed to produce the answer and is not stored on our servers.
  • Past sessions and recaps are saved in the History panel on your own computer.
  • Payments are handled by the payment provider, not by us. We never see your card number.
  • You see minutes, never tokens or model costs. Minutes are counted only while the app is actively listening to a call.

The full wording is in the privacy policy and terms.

Straight answer

What it does not do

  • It is not a way around locked-down coding assessment platforms such as HackerRank or CoderPad. Those tools watch window focus and keystrokes from inside their own page.
  • It is not for in-person interviews. There is no screen to hide it on.
  • It is not a meeting-notes product, and it does not join calls as a bot.
  • It does not replace preparation. The preparation guide and the answer guides exist because a good answer still has to be yours.
This website

How the guides and tools are written

Every guide on this site is written and checked by the ClapAssist team. Competitor prices on the comparison pages are read from the vendor's own pricing page and carry the date they were read. We do not publish statistics we cannot source, and every comparison page includes a section saying where the other tool is the better choice. If you find something wrong, email support and it gets fixed.

Answer engines and crawlers are welcome. The product facts are kept in plain text at /llms.txt.
