Resignation letter generator and exit checklist
Five facts in, a short and polite letter out: no reasons unless you want one, nothing negative, under 160 words. Then the part nobody gives you: what to collect from HR before your last day, so the next job starts clean.
Your details
Nothing you type leaves your browser.
Pick the day you agreed with HR, or the day your notice ends.
One line about you, not about the company. It goes in your HR file.
Your letter
Ready to send0 words
Say it first, then send it
Tell your manager on a call or in person before the email lands. One line is enough: I have decided to move on. My last working day will be [date]. I will send the letter today so the date is on record, and I will make the handover easy. Then send the letter the same day.

The letter is the easy part. These are the things people forget to ask HR and regret at the next joining. Each line says why it matters. Ticks are saved in this browser only.

This is a checklist, not legal advice. Notice periods, settlements and dates come from your own appointment letter or contract and from HR. Confirm each date with them.
How it works
1
Type five facts
Your name, your manager, the company, your role, and either the notice days or the date. The last working day is computed from today when you give days.
2
Pick the tone, skip the reason
Short and formal, warm, or plain. The reason stays out unless you choose one. Nothing negative goes in, ever.
3
Send it, then work the checklist
Copy, print or download the letter. Then tick the exit items for your country so nothing is missing at the next joining.

Questions people ask
How long should a resignation letter be?
Short. The fact that you are resigning, your last working day, one line of thanks, and an offer to hand over. That is under 160 words, and this generator keeps every letter under that.
Do I have to give a reason for resigning?
No. A resignation letter is a record of the date, not an explanation. Leave the reason out unless you want it on file. If you add one, keep it to one line about you, never about the company.
Should I mention problems with my manager or the company?
No. The letter stays in your HR file and is what a background check and a future reference are built on. Complaints go nowhere useful there. Say them in the exit interview only if they are about a process, not a person.
Can I ask for an early release in the letter?
Yes. Ask politely and say you understand it depends on the team. Whether unused leave can be set against the notice, or a buyout is allowed, is written in your appointment letter or contract, so read that first.
What should I get from HR before my last day?
It depends on the country. In India: written acknowledgement, the relieving and experience letters, the full and final settlement date, Form 16, and your PF and gratuity position. In the Philippines: clearance, the Certificate of Employment, final pay and the pro-rated 13th month. Elsewhere: the final paycheck date, the benefits end date and a reference. The checklist above lists each one with the reason.
The letter takes a minute. The next interview does not.
