Type the CTC. See what reaches your bank each month after PF, professional tax and income tax, under the new and the old regime, side by side, with the saving.Type your gross pay and the deductions on your payslip. See what reaches your bank each pay period, each year and each hour, from your country's official tax tables where we have them, or from the rates on your payslip.
Professional tax is ₹2,500 a year in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Gujarat, and none in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. The PF cap is 12% of basic up to ₹25,000 a month, the EPF wage ceiling from 17 Sep 2026 (it was ₹15,000). Employer NPS, if your offer has it, comes out of the CTC and counts in both regimes.
These count only in the old regime, so they change the right-hand column of the comparison. Leave a box empty if it does not apply.
Caps applied: 80C ₹1,50,000 (your PF counts first), 80CCD(1B) ₹50,000, home-loan interest on a home you live in ₹2,00,000. 80D is taken as typed, because its cap depends on your age and your parents' age.

Rates checked 3 Oct 2026, source: incometax.gov.in (tax slabs). PF wage ceiling ₹25,000 a month from 17 Sep 2026 (Gazette notification S.O. 5109(E)).
| Line | New regime | Old regime |
|---|
The old regime wins only when your deductions are large (full 80C, big HRA, home-loan interest).
New regime: standard deduction ₹75,000; your PF and professional tax are not deductible.
Rates: FY 2026-27, new and old regime, from incometax.gov.in (tax slabs). Budget 2026-27 kept the FY 2025-26 slabs, rebate, cess and surcharge, so both years give the same answer. Professional tax is a state tax; pick your state on the left. Your payslip can still differ: HRA, special allowance, meal cards, NPS and the exact PF rule are set by the employer.
Type the rates from your payslip below, or pick a country to use its official tax table.
Deductions, each optional. Type a percent of your pay, or switch the small box to an amount per pay period. In the Philippines the usual lines are withholding tax, SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG; take each from your payslip or the BIR table linked below.

Your own rates: the result is as right as the rates you type.
| Line | Per month | A year |
|---|
| Period | Gross | Take-home |
|---|
These are your numbers. The result is only as right as the rates you typed. Employer-side contributions are not taken from your pay, so they are left out.
Your tax office publishes the withholding table or an official calculator; search for it on the government site, not on a third-party page. Your last payslip has the same lines with the exact amounts.
Percent or amount: use whichever your payslip or the official calculator gives you. A fixed premium is an amount; a tax band is a percent. If a line does not apply to you, leave it empty.
Amounts can be typed the way you would write them: 85,000, $120k, £50,000, 1.2m, or with the period inside, like $85,000/yr or 25/hr. The page says under the box how it read the figure. If a figure looks like the wrong period (a "month" larger than a usual year's pay, or a "year" smaller than half of one), it asks whether you meant a month or a year instead of guessing.
Brazil, Canada (outside Quebec and Manitoba), Nigeria, the Philippines, the United Kingdom and the United States (federal; you type your state rate). Each table was read on the tax office's own pages, and the page names the source and the date above the result. Every other country uses "Type my own rates": a guessed rate would be a wrong number with a confident face, so the page never guesses one.
Close, not exact. Payroll works each pay period, rounds, and knows things this page does not: your tax code or W-4, credits, benefits, loans. Use it to compare offers; your payslip is the final word.
Gross pay: the amount in the offer before anything is taken out, for a year unless you pick another period. Bonuses and stock are paid on the company's terms and taxed when paid, so leave them out of the regular pay figure.
Yes. Pick "Hour" next to the pay box, or type it with the amount, like 25/hr, and set your hours a week (40 if you leave it). The page works out the year from those, then shows every period, down to the hour after tax.
No. It is paid on top of your gross, never taken from it, so it does not change what reaches your bank. Only your own share belongs in the table.
A reload keeps what you typed, in this browser only. "Copy share link" puts the numbers after the # in the link, the part a browser never sends to a website, so the person you send it to sees your figures and we never do. "Save as PDF" prints the result and the inputs.
Which regime is better: the page works out both and says which one leaves you more, and by how much. Switch the breakdown to see either regime line by line. The old regime wins only when your deductions are large (full 80C, big HRA, home-loan interest).
The CTC box takes lakh or the full amount: 12, 12 LPA, 12 lakh, 12,00,000, ₹18,00,000, Rs. 12,00,000/- and 1.2 crore all work. A plain figure under 1,000 is read as lakh, anything larger as rupees, and the line under the box says which. A rupee figure too small for a year's CTC gets the question "a month or a year?".
Only in the old regime. The exempt part is the least of three: the HRA your employer pays, the rent you pay minus 10% of basic, and 50% of basic if you live in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune or Ahmedabad (40% anywhere else). The Income-tax Rules, 2026 added Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad to the 50% list from 1 April 2026. If you leave the HRA box empty, the page takes the HRA as the 50% or 40% limit and says so.
Some offers put part of the CTC into your NPS account. Section 80CCD(2) lets that part come off your taxable salary in either regime: up to 14% of basic in the new regime and 10% in the old one for a private employer. It is still your money, in your NPS account, so it does not reach the bank each month.
The EPF wage ceiling went from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month on 17 September 2026 (Gazette of India notification S.O. 5109(E)). If your employer works PF only up to the ceiling, the most each side puts in is now ₹3,000 a month instead of ₹1,800. Other employers work it on the full basic; that is this page's default, and you can switch to the capped rule.
A reload keeps what you typed, in this browser only. "Copy share link" puts the numbers after the # in the link, the part a browser never sends to a website, so the person you send it to sees your figures and we never do. "Save as PDF" prints both regimes and the inputs.
