Start on a one-column template that hiring systems read, or drop your old resume and it comes out on it. See what an ATS reads from your page, then download a PDF or Word file. It works as an ATS resume maker for freshers and experienced people alike, on A4.Making a CV? This works as an ATS CV maker too, on A4.US Letter or A4, your choice.
Upload it, press Fix. The AI rewrites every weak line and your summary, asks for any number it needs, and you check each change before it goes in.
Fix my resume sends your work lines, summary and skills to our AI helper to rewrite them. Your resumes are kept in this browser and saved to ClapAssist; sign in and they show on any computer. An uploaded resume and what you send to the AI are saved too, so our tools can fill them in next time. See or delete.
Four steps, all on this page.
This is the builder's own sample on the ATS-friendly template, and below is what our resume parser read back from it. Nothing here is typed by hand.

Not everything is full marks, and the page says so: Three to six lines per job 3 of 6: 1 of 2 jobs have three to six lines; Word count 0 of 3: 170 words (our range for your level: 250 to 800). The Score tab lists each one with what to change.
Made by running the builder's check (the text a PDF of this page holds, read by the same parser as our Resume Scanner) on September 27, 2026. Your own page is checked the same way, live, every time you type.
Six rules. The template follows each one, and the check tells you when your own text breaks one.
| The rule | What the builder does |
|---|---|
| One column. A parser reads the page left to right, top to bottom. | This template, and every layout option on it, stays one column. Two other designs add a side column and say "less safe for ATS". |
| Standard headings. Experience, Education, Skills. | Sections start with those names. Rename one and the Score tab lists which headings a parser still finds. |
| Real text. No text inside pictures, icons or text boxes. | The PDF file holds real text, laid out as the preview shows, and the Word file is text too. |
| Dates a parser can read. A month and a year on each one. | Dates are picked from a month and year list, so they come out the same way every time. |
| Contact details in the body. Not only in a page header or footer. | Your name, email, phone and city sit at the top of the page itself. |
| No tables or photos. | No template has a table, and a photo is off until you add one. A resume you drop here is rebuilt on the one-column template. |
Same template, different order.
With little work history, lead with what you have. Set your level to "Student or intern" and the score aims for one page. Add a Projects section, drag it and Education above Experience, add internships and part-time jobs as jobs, and give every project a line with the tools you used and what came out of it. Add your CGPA or percentage in the Grade box of your degree.Add your GPA or grade in the Grade box when it helps.
Changing careers? Keep the jobs, and rewrite each line around the skill the new job asks for. Paste that job post in Job match to see which of its skills your page already shows and which it is missing.
A resume builder whose pages a hiring system (an ATS, applicant tracking system) can read into the right fields: your name and contact details, each job with its dates, your education and your skills. This one also shows you what a parser reads from your page, so you can check before you apply.
Yes. The template, the ATS check, the resume score and the PDF and Word downloads are free, with no sign-up and no watermark. Only the optional AI buttons have a small free daily allowance per connection.
One column of real text, standard headings such as Experience, Education and Skills, a month and year on every date, and no tables, text boxes, icons or photos. The template this page opens on follows all of those rules, and so do seven more designs in Customize. The example above shows what a parser reads from it.
Yes. Press PDF / Word, then Word (.docx), and the file downloads straight away. To work in Google Docs, upload that file to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs. The PDF downloads the same way, as a file with real text.
A PDF made here holds real text, not a picture of text, so a parser can read it; that is what the example above checks. Send the Word file when the job form asks for Word, and the PDF otherwise.
Not reliably. When our own reader opens a two-column PDF, lines from the two columns can come out mixed, so a job title lands next to a skill from the sidebar. That is why the template this page opens on is a single column; the two side-column designs in Customize are marked less safe for ATS. If your current resume has two columns, drop it on this page: it comes out on the one-column template, and the builder tells you which parts to check.
Choose "Student or intern" as your level (it aims for one page), add a Projects section and drag it and Education above Experience, add internships as jobs, and write one line per result with the tools you used. The Score tab then checks it the same way as any other resume.
No. The ATS parse part only says a hiring system can read your file. Interviews come from what the lines say and how close they are to the job. Use Job match to see which skills the job post asks for, and add only the ones you really have.
Here, 12 parse checks, the same as our Resume Scanner: email address; phone number; location; summary at the top; standard section headings; dates a parser can read; contact not only in a page header; one column, no text boxes; no tables; no photo, icons or text in images; plain characters; and file type and name. The full resume score adds your content, best practices and page length.
Yes, so you do not lose it. Every resume you make here stays in this browser and is saved to ClapAssist; sign in with your email and it opens on any computer you use. The text of an uploaded file, and what you send to the AI, are saved too. You can see, download or delete all of it at clapassist.com/my-data/. Each AI button says what it sends.
Every line on your resume is a question waiting to happen: "Walk me through how you cut that report from three days to one." ClapAssist is an AI interview assistant for Mac and Windows that listens to the call and shows you what to say. It stays out of screen share on every plan; only you can see it.
