Upload your old resume or start blank. Every weak line and your summary come back rewritten, you approve each change, and you download a clean ATS-friendly PDF or Word file. No watermark, no paywall at the download.
Upload it, press Fix. The AI rewrites every weak line and your summary, asks for any number it needs, and you check each change before it goes in.
Fix my resume sends your work lines, summary and skills to our AI helper to rewrite them. Your resumes are kept in this browser and saved to ClapAssist; sign in and they show on any computer. An uploaded resume and what you send to the AI are saved too, so our tools can fill them in next time. See or delete.
Every key you press lands on a real US Letter or A4 page, split into pages exactly as it will print. Click anything on the page to jump to its field. Drag sections and jobs into the order you want, hide one for a single application, and bring it back later.
One number out of 100 from checks you can read: can a parser read it, do your lines carry numbers and start with an action, is there a summary, full dates, a profile link, the right length for your level. Press a check and the builder opens the exact job or line.
Paste the job post. The builder shows your match rate, the skills you already cover and the ones you are missing. Add a missing skill to your Skills line, or tell the AI how you used it and get a line that says so. It never adds a skill you did not claim.
Pick Classic, Modern, Compact, Executive, Minimal, Academic, Bold header, Elegant, Two-column or Sidebar, then change anything: font, size, line and section spacing, margins, your color and where it shows, heading style, which comes first, where the date sits, bullet style. Add a photo only where one is expected. Fit to one page in one click.
One a hiring system can read into the right fields: your name, contact, each job with its dates, your education and skills.
In practice that means one column of real text, standard headings (Experience, Education, Skills), a month and year on every date, your contact details in the body of the page, and no tables, text boxes, icons or photos. The eight one-column templates here follow those rules; the two side-column designs and a photo do not, and the builder marks them less safe for ATS. The ATS parse part of your score reads the exact text of your download, so you see what a parser gets before you send it.
Four groups, 100 points. A check you pass gets its full points, a partial one half, and each check shows its points in the Score panel.
| Group and what it checks | Points |
|---|---|
| ATS parse: the same parse score as our Resume Scanner, run on the exact text of your download: email, phone, location, summary, standard headings, readable dates, one column, no tables or images, plain characters | 30 |
| Content: numbers in half your lines (10), three to six lines per job (6), lines that start with an action (6), no weak openers or buzzwords (6), line length (4), no "I" or "my" (3), active voice (3), the same ending on every line (2) | 40 |
| Best practices: a short summary (4), month and year on every date (4), a LinkedIn or portfolio link (3), a skills section (3), a plain email (2), city and country (2), no private details (2) | 20 |
| Format: page length for your level (5), word count for your level (3), a readable font size (2) | 10 |
Job match is a separate number, the Resume Scanner's match rate, so a resume is never marked down for a job you have not chosen yet.
Aim for 90 or more before you send it.
| What the Score panel says | Score |
|---|---|
| Ready to send. Fix anything still red, then download. | 90 to 100 |
| Nearly there. Fix the items at the top of the list first; they are worth the most points. | 75 to 89 |
| Needs work. Start with the red items. Each one opens the field to fix. | 0 to 74 |
The score is about the resume itself. How well it fits one job is the match rate in Job match, where 75 or more is a strong match.
It depends on your level. These are the page targets the score uses.
| Your level | Pages |
|---|---|
| Student or intern | 1 |
| Entry level (0 to 2 years) | 1 |
| Mid level (3 to 7 years) | 2 |
| Senior (8+ years) | 2 |
| Manager or executive | 3 |
These are the most pages that still get full points; shorter is fine. When you upload a resume, the builder guesses your level from your dated work, and you can change it under Customize. Over the target? Cut older or weaker lines, or press the Fit button above the page: it shrinks spacing and type a little until it fits.
Upload it and press Fix my resume. You check every change before it goes in.
The AI rewrites every weak line and your summary. Add the job you are applying for and it aims the lines at that post. When a line needs a number or a fact it does not have, it asks you or leaves a [bracket] for you to fill. If it adds a skill that is not in your resume, the builder marks it so you can take it out. Fix my resume sends your work lines, summary and skills to our AI helper, and they are saved to ClapAssist so our tools can fill them in next time. The AI buttons have a small free daily allowance; everything else is free.
Yes. Every template, every design option, the resume score, job targeting, and PDF and Word downloads are free, with no watermark and no account. The optional AI buttons have a small free daily allowance per connection.
In this browser, and saved to ClapAssist a few seconds after each change. Sign in with your email and your resumes show on any computer you sign in on; edits from two computers are combined, and a resume changed on both keeps both versions. See, download or delete them at clapassist.com/my-data/. What you send to the AI is saved too, so our tools can fill it in next time.
Eight of the ten are one column of real text with standard headings and no tables, text boxes or icons. We test every template and every layout option by reading the exported text back through our own resume parser: each one reads back with every job, date and school in the right place. The two side-column designs, and any design with a photo, are marked less safe for ATS, and your score counts it.
Out of 100: how cleanly a parser reads your resume (30 points), the content of your lines such as numbers, action verbs and length (40), best practices such as a summary, full dates and a profile link (20), and format such as page length and font size (10). Every check shows its weight and takes you to the field to fix.
Press PDF / Word, then PDF. A PDF file downloads straight away, made in your browser, laid out as the preview shows it, with real text a hiring system can read (not a picture of text). Word (.docx) and plain text download the same way. If your resume has letters the PDF's standard fonts cannot write, such as Hindi, the print window opens instead: choose Save as PDF.
Yes. Duplicate a resume from Your resumes, paste the job post in Job match, and the builder shows your match rate and the keywords you are missing. Add only the ones that are true, then download that version.
Yes. Drop a PDF or Word file, or paste the text. It is read in your browser and filled into the sections, then you can press Fix my resume or edit it yourself. You can also start from scratch, from a sample, or from your last Resume Scanner scan.
It is told not to: it rewrites your own lines. If it still adds a skill that is not in your resume, the builder marks it so you can take it out. When a line needs a number or fact it does not have, it leaves a [bracket] for you to fill. You check every change before it goes in.
One column, standard headings (Experience, Education, Skills), real text instead of tables, text boxes or icons, and dates a parser can read. The eight one-column designs here are built that way, and the builder checks the file the way a parser reads it.
No. PDF, Word and text downloads are free with no sign-up and no watermark, every time. Only the optional AI buttons have a small free daily allowance per connection.
Yes. On LinkedIn, open your profile on a computer, press More (or Resources), then Save to PDF, and drop that PDF here. Your headline, About, every role with its dates, schools, top skills, certifications and languages land in their own fields. LinkedIn lines rarely carry numbers, so press Fix with AI or add your results before you send it.
Usually not. Many hiring systems, and most employers in the US, UK and Canada, prefer no photo, and a parser cannot read one. The Europass CV guide says a picture is not essential unless the employer asks for one. Where a photo is expected, add it under Personal details: it is off on every design until you do.
Yes. Sign in with your email from the line under Your resumes, then sign in the same way on the other computer: your resumes appear there, and changes on either one are combined. Without an account, download Backup of all resumes and import it on the other computer.
Every line on your resume is a question waiting to happen: "Walk me through how you cut that report from three days to one." ClapAssist is an AI interview assistant for Mac and Windows that listens to the call and shows you what to say. It stays out of screen share on every plan; only you can see it.
