Amazon's interview questions for seven jobs, 56 in all, each with what it checks and a sample spoken answer, and what Amazon itself says about how it hires. Every line about the process below comes from Amazon's own careers pages, linked next to it and checked on 3 October 2026. Nothing here comes from review sites, and there are no pass rates or salaries.
Each set below was written for one Amazon job, from the work that job does. Open a set for every question with what the interviewer is checking, an answer frame, a sample spoken answer and the red flag to avoid.

Amazon's careers pages name four steps: online application, online assessment, phone screening and interview loop. You apply online with an up-to-date resume; Amazon says it does not accept cover letters. Depending on the role, you may take an online work style assessment or a work sample simulation during or after applying. Some roles have a phone or video screen built on behavioral questions guided by the Leadership Principles. You meet one by one with current employees, and each one checks a different part of your skills and experience. Ask your recruiter which of them apply to your job.
Amazon says every candidate is evaluated through the lens of its Leadership Principles. Interviews ask for real examples from your past to see how you handle challenges, make decisions and work with others. Amazon says it avoids brain teasers because they do not reliably predict success. Amazon says it values authenticity, self-awareness and a willingness to learn over perfect answers.
The best prep is to think about how you have shown the Leadership Principles in past roles. The STAR method is one way to structure answers, but Amazon says it is not the only way. Say "I" rather than "we" so the interviewer hears what you did yourself, and back it up with data. Have a few stories ready, including times you took risks, failed and grew. On work style questions, do not overthink; answer as the real you. Then say the answers to the questions below out loud, once each, before the day.
No one outside Amazon can promise that. ClapAssist wrote these 56 questions for Amazon's seven jobs from the work each job involves; they are practice, not a leak. When candidates send us the questions they were really asked and we approve them, they appear in the box on this page, with a count once three or more people name the same one.
