Interview Coder's free download is the app without the AI. Answers cost $299 a month or a $799 lifetime licence. ClapAssist gives you AI answers on the free plan, hidden from screen share, then from $39.99 for 14 days when you need more.
Both tools put AI answers on your screen during a live call. The difference is what you pay, what is hidden, and what is kept.
Interview Coder: $299/month (1,000 credits) or $799 lifetime.
ClapAssist: $14.99 for 120 minutes, or $39.99 for 14 unlimited days.
Interview Coder: Every tier, including the free download.
ClapAssist: Every plan, including Free

Interview Coder plan names, features and prices taken from interviewcoder.co on 28 August 2026 and re-checked on 1 and 3 October 2026. They can change; check their page before you decide. "Not mentioned" means their site does not say it, which is not the same as not having it. ClapAssist prices show in your local currency automatically.
Interview Coder calls itself "The No. 1 Undetectable AI For Interviews", and its footer describes "a desktop app designed to help job seekers ace technical interviews by providing real-time assistance with coding questions" (interviewcoder.co, seen 2026-10-03). It now lists system design, behavioral, full stack, AI/ML, consulting, data analyst, trading and PM interviews too.
It runs on Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows, with no browser or phone version. It reads your screen and, its FAQ says, "now captures and transcribes interviewer audio in real-time"; the audio feature is limited on Intel Macs. Its FAQ names Python, Java, C++, Go and Rust among the coding languages.
It suits someone whose interviews are mostly coding rounds and who is ready to pay a high price, or to buy once for years.
Three options on the home page, each next to a struck-out "original price" (seen 2026-10-03):
Its terms say a subscription is "automatically renewed for successive billing periods at our then-current pricing", and ask for written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before the renewal date. Its refund page says "All sales are final."
For scale: one Monthly Pro payment is more than two ClapAssist Job Hunt months at $119.99 each, and ClapAssist gives AI answers on the free plan.
Some of its pages read differently from others, so it is worth asking them in writing before you buy:
ClapAssist's rule is written once and is the same everywhere: call audio and screenshots are never stored; your resume, notes, a short recap and the interview transcript are saved to your account, and you can switch transcripts off and delete any of it. The details are on is ClapAssist safe.
For timed coding tests, practice in the open with our free coding test practice; ClapAssist is not for locked-down platforms.
No meeting bot, no notes dashboard, no clutter. Just the answer on your screen when the question lands.
Never joins the call, so there is no bot in the participant list. The window is excluded from screen share and recordings. The overlay sits at your eye line, so reading looks like thinking.
ClapAssist hears each question as it is asked and writes a spoken-ready answer from your real roles, projects and numbers. Glance, absorb, say it in your own words.
One interview? Practice. Every round of one job? Sprint. Whole job hunt? Job Hunt. Sprint and Job Hunt are unlimited inside their window, and every plan is hidden from screen share. Pay once. Nothing renews. When your days end, you are back on Free.
A comparison page you can trust has to say this part too.
Interview Coder is built around solving coding problems on screen, with a one-time $799 lifetime option. If that is all you need and you interview for years, it may pay off.
Behavioral, system design, "tell me about a time": ClapAssist hears the question and writes a spoken answer from your resume, hidden from screen share, from $39.99 for 14 days.
One honest note: ClapAssist is built for video interviews. It is not a way around locked-down coding test sites like HackerRank or CoderPad, which watch focus and keystrokes. It warns you when an exam app is open instead of hiding from it. Read is ClapAssist safe for the full limits.
Hidden from screen share on every plan, including Free. Practice covers one interview; Sprint and Job Hunt are unlimited inside their window. Every plan is paid once and never renews. Prices show in your currency, and one account works on Mac and Windows.
Yes, 10 minutes of them. Interview Coder's free download is the app without AI; their site says to subscribe to unlock AI features.
Yes. Keep the screen toggle on and press Cmd+Enter (Ctrl+Enter on Windows), or let it hear the question; it answers with code and explanation. It is not a bypass for locked-down platforms like HackerRank or CoderPad.
No. Every plan is paid once and never renews.
On Best Interview Coder alternatives, which looks at how each tool works on a live call, and on the best AI interview tools. This page stays on prices and plans.
Its refund page says it "operates on a no-refund policy for all purchases" and "All sales are final" (seen 2026-10-03), though its FAQ asks you to contact support if something goes wrong. ClapAssist has a Money-Back Guarantee (7 days, under 30 minutes used) and gives 10 free minutes of real AI answers before you pay.
Its terms say a subscription is renewed automatically for each billing period at the then-current price, and ask for written notice at least 30 days before renewal if you want to stop (seen 2026-10-03). Every ClapAssist plan is paid once and never renews.

No. Interview Coder is a trademark of its owner. Their prices on this page were taken from interviewcoder.co on 28 August 2026 and may change.
Each page states where that tool beats this one. If one of them fits you better, it is better to find out here than after paying us.
