What is CoPrep AI, and what does it cost?

CoPrep AI is an AI interview assistant that "provides real-time answers during live interviews" (coprep.ai/pricing, seen 2026-10-17). Around the live copilot it lists a mobile and a desktop interview assistant, AI mock interviews, a question bank, resume, cover letter, LinkedIn and headshot tools, a job explorer and a job application tracker. It says every plan includes "OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek & Qwen latest models".

Its pricing page shows your own currency. Read from India on 17 October 2026, unchanged since 3 October:

Free: 20 credits when you sign up. One credit is one minute of the interview assistant.
Credit packs, paid once: 120 credits (2 hours) for ₹900, 360 credits (6 hours) for ₹1,800, 840 credits (14 hours) for ₹3,150, each shown 20% lower with a code on the page. "Purchased credits never expire."
Unlimited plans: ₹1,500 a week, ₹3,000 a month or ₹7,500 a quarter. They "renew at the selected billing interval until you cancel".
Refunds: "Subscription charges, including renewals, are non-refundable." Unused purchased credits may be refunded within 7 calendar days.

Outside India, on 3 October 2026, the same page showed $18 for 120 credits and $30, $60 and $150 for the weekly, monthly and quarterly plans. CoPrep suits someone who wants many prep tools in one account and hours that wait for them. If what you need is the live call itself, hidden on every plan and paid once, read on.

The comparison, without the marketing

CoPrep sells both minutes and subscriptions; we sell minutes and unlimited windows, all paid once, so this is a comparison between two similar ideas rather than an argument about principle. Their dollar prices below were seen on 3 October 2026; the rupee prices were checked again on 17 October 2026. That includes the part where they are better.

What does an interview week cost?

CoPrep AI now shows its prices in your own currency. Outside India its unlimited Weekly plan was $30 a week, and in India ₹1,500 (seen 2026-10-03); it renews every week until you cancel. Its credit packs start at 120 credits (2 hours) for $18 outside India or ₹900 in India, with a 20% code shown on the page. ClapAssist: a Sprint is $39.99 for 14 days, with no meter at all, and costs less in India and about fifty other countries. Practice is 120 minutes, paid once.

Do the minutes expire?

Yes, ClapAssist minutes do. This is the real trade. CoPrep credits never expire. ClapAssist Practice minutes last 2 days (7 days in India), a Sprint 14 days and a Job Hunt 30. If you want to buy hours now and spend them across a job hunt spread over a year, CoPrep is built for that and we are not. If you are interviewing inside the next month, thirty days is longer than the search and there is no meter inside it.

Is there a free tier?

CoPrep gives 20 free credits on signup; one credit is one minute of its interview copilot. ClapAssist gives 10 free minutes, once per account, with no card. Theirs is more generous and it would be silly to pretend otherwise — but 10 minutes is enough to run a mock call and confirm the window really is hidden on your friend's screen, which is the one thing worth proving before paying either of us.

Do both hide from screen share?

CoPrep says its desktop app uses content protection on macOS and window capture exclusion on supported modern Windows builds, and warns when full protection is not available, for example on Linux (seen 2026-10-03). ClapAssist does it by having the operating system exclude the window from screen capture — WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE on Windows, sharingType = none on macOS — on every plan including the free one, verified in a real Google Meet share on 3 September 2026.

Does either sell a subscription?

Only CoPrep. CoPrep sells Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly unlimited plans that renew until you cancel: $30, $60 and $150 outside India, or ₹1,500, ₹3,000 and ₹7,500 in India (seen 2026-10-03). The yearly plan it listed in September is no longer on its pricing page. ClapAssist's Sprint (14 days) and Job Hunt ($119.99 for 30 days) are unlimited. Every plan is paid once and never renews.

Do both have free prep tools?

Yes. CoPrep lists three free calculators (PPP salary, notice period, AI job risk) and an Interview Question Bank that generates practice questions by role, skills, level and round; its resume, cover letter and LinkedIn tools use account credits (seen 2026-10-03). Which should I actually buy?

Interviewing in the next few weeks: compare a CoPrep week and a 14-day ClapAssist Sprint in your own currency, because which is cheaper depends on the country. ClapAssist hides on every plan including the free one, and every plan is paid once and never renews. Buying ahead for a hunt with no fixed timeline, or wanting the largest free trial first: CoPrep.
