What Verve AI does, where it runs, what it costs, its refund and privacy terms, and who it suits, all read from its own site and help docs. ClapAssist makes a competing AI interview assistant; every Verve AI fact links to its source.
Verve AI is an AI interview copilot made by Verve AI Inc. It listens to a live job interview, spots each question, and shows a suggested answer built from your resume and the job description. It runs in a web browser, as a desktop app for Mac and Windows, and in a phone browser for phone interviews.
Around the live copilot, Verve AI sells AI mock interviews, interview reports with a transcript, coding and online assessment helpers, an auto-apply job agent and free resume tools. There is a free plan (three 15-minute copilot sessions) and paid plans that renew. This post sets out what Verve AI says each part does, what it costs on 23 October 2026, its refund and privacy terms, who it suits, its limits, and how it differs from other AI interview assistants. Every Verve AI fact comes from its own site or help docs, read on 23 October 2026.
Key takeaways
Verve AI is not one tool but a set of them. This table lists each product as its own pages describe it on 23 October 2026. The quotes are Verve AI's words; we have not tested the products.
| Product | What Verve AI says it does |
|---|---|
| AI Interview Copilot | "A real-time AI assistant that listens during actual interviews and suggests responses based on your background, while also analyzing your screen to solve problems." It says it is "not a practice, mock, or rehearsal tool." |
| Coding Interview Copilot | Support for "live technical rounds and LeetCode-style problems", using a screen capture of the problem. |
| Online Assessment Copilot | "Solve on-screen problems and pass any online tests." It names CoderPad, HackerRank, LeetCode, CodeSignal, Codility and HackerEarth. |
| HireVue and Mercor copilots | "Live assistance to pass video interviews and one-way interviews." |
| Specialized copilots | "20 specialized interview domains", such as finance, product management, data science, consulting and cybersecurity, on the Pro plan. |
| AI Mock Interview | "Run realistic mock interviews" from a question bank of top companies, with "a transcript and notes on exactly what to improve after each session". |
| Interview Report | After a live or mock session: "the transcript, an AI summary, structured Q&A, and a PDF". Reports can be shared by link. |
| AI Job Application | A job agent that scans "30+ job sites" and, once you approve roles or set criteria, "submits applications on your behalf". |
| Free tools | "14 AI tools like Resume Builder, Cover Letter Builder, ATS Checker", plus Roast My Resume and a thank-you email writer. |
| Enterprise | For hiring teams: shared session pools and candidate links, "Starting at $10/session". |
The pricing page lists the AI models it can use, from several makers (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic and others). Some are marked "Add-on" on the cheaper plans, and Pro adds "Reasoning Models".
The site says Verve AI is "Available on Mac, Windows, browser and mobile". The three versions do not do the same things, and its help docs say so plainly:
| Version | How you use it | What it can and cannot do |
|---|---|---|
| Desktop app (Mac, Windows) | Download from vervecopilot.com/app | "Full features including Stealth Mode, hotkey screen capture, and transparency controls." Also hide from the Dock or taskbar and change the app icon and title. |
| Browser app | Chrome, Edge or Opera | "Quick access ... for general interviews." Stealth Mode is not available here. |
| Mobile experience | The web app in Chrome, Safari or Firefox on a phone or tablet. Nothing to install. | Made for phone interviews, run on a second device. Verve AI says it is not as strong as the desktop app: "A mobile browser picks up both voices through one microphone, so telling speakers apart and filtering background noise is harder." |
For meeting apps, it names Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Amazon Chime and FaceTime.
Verve AI markets its Stealth Mode with lines such as "It's undetectable" on its home page and "Undetectable live help" on its copilot page. Its own help docs are more careful. They say Stealth Mode needs the desktop app and is "guaranteed invisible" when you share one window or tab, or the entire screen from the Zoom or Teams desktop apps. They also warn it "May not work" when you share your entire screen from a browser meeting (Google Meet, Zoom or Teams in Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera), and they ask you to test it first with a screen recording or a test call.
The rule that matters more than any feature: some employers do not allow AI help during interviews or online assessments, and a proctored test can set its own rules. Read the invitation and the company's candidate rules first. If you are a fresher in campus placements in India, read each online test's instructions too. Breaking a rule can cost you the offer, whatever the software does.
The pricing page has three tabs: Annually (marked "59% OFF"), Quarterly and Monthly. With a US time zone and locale, it showed "All prices are in USD". Every price is shown as a rate per month:
| Plan | Annually | Quarterly | Monthly | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0, "no credit card required" | Three 15-minute copilot sessions, 5 AI mock interviews, 5 reports, the 14 AI tools, Stealth Mode in the desktop app | ||
| Standard | $16.99 a month | $39.99 a month | $44.99 a month | 60-minute copilot sessions (5 a month: "x 5" monthly, "x 15" quarterly, "x 60" yearly), unlimited mock interviews, 10 reports |
| Pro ("Recommended") | $34.99 a month | $59.99 a month | $84.99 a month | "Unlimited 90-min Interview Copilot Session", 20 interview domains, reasoning models, unlimited reports and question bank |

The cards do not show the total you pay at checkout. Verve AI's cancel guide says the yearly plan "is billed upfront, meaning you make a one-time payment covering the entire year." At the rates shown, that works out to:
The same USD prices were on the page when we read it on 1 October 2026. These are paid plans that renew: the terms say "You may cancel your subscription at any time", and access then runs to "the end of the current billing cycle".
The price you see depends on how your browser is set. From the same connection, with an India time zone and locale, the page said "All prices are in INR" and showed Pro at ₹3,299.99 and Standard at ₹1,599.99 a month on the Annually tab. There is also a currency picker under the plans (USD, EUR, GBP, INR and others). If you compare tools, compare them in one currency.
Say you have one 45-minute final round in five days. The free plan's sessions last 15 minutes, so they are for testing, not for a full interview. The cheapest way to cover the whole call is Standard on the Monthly tab: $44.99 for five 60-minute sessions. If you use all five, that is about $0.15 a minute. If you use only one, it is the full $44.99, and the plan renews unless you cancel. To compare that with every other tool's shortest plan, see our AI interview tool prices table.
In plain words: if you use a paid plan even once and it works, the policy does not promise a refund. The free plan is your real test.
One account is for one person: "Account sharing ... is strictly prohibited", and Verve AI may "monitor usage" and suspend accounts that share. It also says "We reserve the right to change our fees at any time."
It lists account, payment, usage and device data, says Verve AI does "not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information" without consent, and gives a right to "access, update, and delete" your data through support@vervecopilot.com. The interview report page says that when you use the copilot or mock interview, "we process audio to build the transcript and Q&A". On 23 October 2026 we could not find a line saying how long interview audio, transcripts or reports are kept. If that matters to you, ask support before your first live call.
Three 15-minute sessions are enough for a fair test if you plan them. This is our suggested plan, built from what Verve AI's own pages say the tool does and limits:
| Session | What to do | What a good result looks like |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Setup and screen share | Install the desktop app, add your resume and a real job post, turn on Stealth Mode, and share your screen to a friend on the meeting app you will really use. Try sharing one window, then the whole screen. | Your friend sees nothing of the copilot either way. If it shows on a whole-screen share, plan to share one window only. |
| 2. Behavioral questions | Ask your friend to read: "Tell me about yourself", "Tell me about a time you disagreed with a teammate" and "Why do you want this job?" | The answers use facts from your resume and the job post, not generic lines, and appear before an awkward pause. |
| 3. Your field | One technical or role question, then a follow-up such as "Can you put a number on that result?" | It keeps up when the question builds on the last one. |
After the test, ask one question: did it help you say a better answer in your own words, or did reading it slow you down? You can rehearse the same questions out loud first with a free AI mock interview, which needs no copilot at all.
We have not run Verve AI in a real interview, so this is not a hands-on review. It is a summary of what its own pages promise and limit. Its home page shows testimonials and claims "500K+" users and "<300ms" copilot latency; we could not check those figures.
Most AI interview assistants do the same core job: listen, then suggest an answer. They differ in where they run, how you pay, what the free option covers and what they keep. Here is Verve AI next to ClapAssist, the tool we make:
| Feature | Verve AI (read 23 October 2026) | ClapAssist |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | Browser, Mac and Windows app, phone browser | Desktop app for Mac and Windows only |
| Hidden from screen share | Stealth Mode, in the desktop app only | On every plan, including the free minutes |
| Free option | Three 15-minute copilot sessions, no card | 10 live minutes, once per account, no card |
| How you pay | Plans that renew (monthly, quarterly or yearly) | Paid once, nothing renews. Practice is $14.99 for 120 minutes |
| Refund | If unused, or a technical issue on its side | Full refund within 7 days of paying, under 30 minutes used |
| What is kept | Policy does not say how long audio or transcripts are kept | Call audio and screenshots never stored; resume, notes, recap and transcript saved to your account (transcripts can be switched off and deleted) |
| Extras | Mock interviews, reports, domain packs, job agent | Free website tools, including an AI mock interview |
ClapAssist is a desktop AI interview assistant that listens on your own computer and writes answers from your resume. It never joins the call. Some employers do not allow AI help in interviews, so check first.
Where Verve AI is the better pick: if you need a browser or phone version, built-in mock interviews with scored reports, or a domain pack for your field, Verve AI offers those and ClapAssist does not.

ClapAssist is a desktop AI interview assistant for Mac and Windows. It listens to your video interview on your own computer and shows an answer written from your resume. It never joins the call and stays out of screen shares on every plan, including the free 10 minutes. Some employers do not allow AI help in interviews, so check first.
Verve AI is an AI interview copilot made by Verve AI Inc. It listens to a live interview, detects each question and suggests an answer based on your resume and the job. It also offers AI mock interviews, interview reports, coding and online assessment helpers, a job application agent and free resume tools.
It has a free plan with no credit card. On 23 October 2026 the free plan gave three 15-minute interview copilot sessions, 5 AI mock interviews, 5 reports and 14 AI tools. Longer sessions need the paid Standard or Pro plan.
On 23 October 2026, with a US view, Standard was $44.99 a month on the Monthly tab ($16.99 a month billed yearly) and Pro was $84.99 a month ($34.99 a month billed yearly). With an India time zone the page showed rupees instead. Plans renew until you cancel.
Yes. It has a desktop app for Mac and Windows, a browser app, and a mobile web app for phone interviews that runs on a second device. Its help docs say Stealth Mode needs the desktop app, and that the mobile version has a harder time telling speakers apart.
Its refund policy, last updated 16 June 2024, allows a refund if you ask while the plan is active or within 5 business days after it ends, and only for a verifiable technical issue on its side or if you did not use the service at all. Yearly plans are a commitment for the full year.
Other AI interview assistants include Final Round AI, LockedIn AI, Cluely, Parakeet AI, Interview Coder and ClapAssist. ClapAssist is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that is paid once and hidden from screen share on every plan. Compare prices and free options before you choose.
ClapAssist hears the call from your own computer, so it works with any interview that plays through your speakers or headphones: the apps above, a call in a browser tab, a coding round shared on a video call, or a phone call taken on your laptop. No bot joins the meeting and nothing is installed on the interviewer's side. It is not built for locked-down test sites like HackerRank or CoderPad.
ClapAssist gives every account 10 free interview minutes, once, with no card. Test it on a practice call.
