Short answer · both read on 18 October 2026

LockedIn AI or Final Round AI?

Both are AI interview assistants that listen to a live interview and show suggested answers on your screen, and both sell plans that renew. The clearest differences, from their own pages: LockedIn AI has a free plan you can use live (5-minute sessions, up to 60 minutes a day), phone apps and a one-time Lifetime plan, but its cheapest unlimited plan, General, does not include Stealth Mode. Final Round AI has no free live use, includes Stealth Mode on every paid plan, has the lowest price for a full year ($300), and gives a 72-hour refund window on every plan, including monthly.

Neither is better for everyone. Below: prices with the 1, 3 and 12-month totals worked out, free plans, platforms, live and practice features, refunds, cancelling, privacy, and who each one fits. We did not test either product for this page. ClapAssist, which publishes this page, makes a competing tool; it gets one short section at the end.

Key takeaways

  • LockedIn AI has free live use (5-minute sessions, 60 minutes a day); Final Round AI has none.

Prices, and what 1, 3 or 12 months cost

LockedIn AI showed a "LIMITED TIME OFFER 60% off across all plans". Each paid card has a lower first payment, then a regular price. In its own words for General: "$43.99 USD/Month is your first payment only. After that you pay the regular price, $109.98 USD/Month, billed every month." The "3 Months" cards show a monthly equivalent billed every 3 months. Lifetime Pro: "$799.60 is a one-time payment, not a subscription. Save 60% compared with the standard one-time price of $1999.00." The pricing page we read showed no yearly plan.

Final Round AI's subscription page showed one of two plan sets. On 4 of 5 visits: Monthly $150.00, Quarterly $83.33 a month billed quarterly, Yearly $25.00 a month billed annually and Premium MAX $41.67 a month billed annually. On 1 visit: Prep $125.00 a month billed every 2 months, Offer $83.33 a month billed half-yearly and Career $62.50 a month billed annually. More detail: Final Round AI pricing.

Total paid for 1, 3 or 12 months

Worked out from the prices above: the first charge, plus the regular charge for each later period, assuming you cancel before the next renewal. A per-month price is multiplied by the months in its billing period, so a plan billed every 3 months costs its full charge even if you need only 1 month. Tax, coupons and refunds are left out, and checkout may round a few cents. LockedIn's Lifetime Pro is $799.60 for any length of time.

What the numbers say:

  • Cheapest single month with Stealth Mode: LockedIn Credits at $55.99 (400 minutes), then LockedIn Professional at $95.99 (unlimited). Final Round AI's Monthly Plan is $150.
  • Cheapest month of any kind: LockedIn General at $43.99, without Stealth Mode.
  • Cheapest full year: Final Round AI's Yearly Plan at $300, if you see plan set A. LockedIn's lowest for a year is Lifetime Pro, $799.60 once, with Stealth Mode; its cheapest subscription year is General paid every 3 months, $815.79, without Stealth Mode.
  • LockedIn's first-payment offer only applies once. From the second period the regular price applies, which is why its 3 and 12-month totals rise fast.
Free plans

Free plans

LockedIn AI: its home page says "Free plan available — no credit card required". Its help pages give the limits: "unlimited 5-minute sessions, up to 60 free minutes a day, with a 1-minute pause between sessions". A free session ends after 5 minutes, so a whole interview cannot run on it without restarting.

Final Round AI: the Free Plan lists "Basic AI interview report" and "Interview prep management", and the home page adds "Unlimited Goals with resume and materials". Live sessions and practice rounds need a paid plan: "Starting a Practice Interview session requires an active plan that includes session access, so the practice rounds themselves are a paid feature."

So if you want to hear live answers before paying, only LockedIn AI lets you, in short sessions.

Platforms

Platforms

  • LockedIn AI: "Windows: Win 10 and above. MacOS: MacOS 13.1 and above." It also runs in a browser (it lists "Chrome, Edge, Chromium, Opera, Brave") and has iPhone and Android apps: "Set the phone beside your laptop during the real interview." Its mobile page adds: "Stealth mode and remote assist are Windows and macOS only." Its pricing FAQ says a plan bought inside the phone apps costs more, because of the app store's commission.
  • Final Round AI: a desktop app on "macOS 14.4+ and Windows". For phone interviews it says to put the phone on speaker near your laptop so the app hears it through the computer's microphone. Its subscription FAQ says one subscription works across "desktop, laptop, mobile browsers, and our Native App".

If your Mac runs a macOS version older than 14.4, Final Round AI's app is not listed for it; LockedIn AI lists macOS 13.1 and above.

Live interview features

Session lengthPaid sessions end after 120 minutes (60 for a mock); start a new one to continueNo limit stated on the pages we read
Screen questionsSelect part of the screen for an answer (desktop app)"Screen help with Auto-capture"
After the call"Comprehensive Summary & Reports"Automatic debrief that "feeds straight back into your next round"
ExtraLockedIn Duo: a friend "can send you text suggestions, code snippets, and voice-to-text guidance" while seeing your screen"Goals": one job's role, resume and materials shared by practice, live sessions and debriefs

Both companies also say their tools work during coding tests and online assessments. Most hiring tests and many employers forbid outside help, and being caught can end your application. Read the rules you were sent before using either one.

Practice

Mock interviews

LockedIn AI: unlimited plans include "Unlimited Mock"; the Credits monthly plan gives "400 Copilot minutes a month — or 800 minutes of Mock". Its help pages say paid users are not charged for mock interviews. Mock rounds run "on any device — desktop, tablet, or phone — with no download needed", end with a scored report, and on phone offer six interviewer styles.

Final Round AI: Practice Interview runs in the desktop app against your Goal, across eight scenarios: "General, Coding, System Design, Behavioral, Product Case, Data / ML, Salary Negotiation and Recruiter Screen". Each ends with a debrief that sets "re-drill targets". It needs a paid plan.

Refunds and cancelling

Refunds and cancelling

LockedIn AI (refund policy last updated 14 October 2026)

  • "Monthly and Quarterly Subscriptions: Non-refundable once started." Cancelling keeps access to the end of the cycle, with "no refunds or prorated credits".
  • Annual subscriptions: "Eligible for a partial refund if canceled within 7 days of purchase."
  • Lifetime: "If you have not started a session after purchase, you may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase." Once a session starts, it is non-refundable.
  • Duplicate charges, billing errors and undelivered access: contact support within 7 days. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple, under Apple's rules.
  • Its pricing page shows the words "Money-back guarantee" next to the plan tabs, which the refund policy does not match for monthly and 3-month plans. Ask support in writing before you pay if this matters to you.
  • Cancel: in the web app at app.lockedinai.com, "click your avatar in the left sidebar, open Billing & Plans, and under Manage Membership choose Cancel subscription". Its help pages say this is not available in the desktop app. Phone app purchases are cancelled in the App Store or Google Play.

Final Round AI (refund policy last updated 8 October 2026)

  • "We offer a 3-day (72-hour) money-back guarantee on initial and renewal subscription charges", on all plans including monthly, once per customer.
  • Not if the billing period shows "at least 2 interview sessions ... each lasting strictly more than 30 minutes". Stripe processing fees may be deducted.
  • Its subscription page FAQ still said "Monthly plans are non-refundable" on 18 October 2026; the newer refund policy and terms say monthly plans are covered.
  • Cancel: "Settings → Account & Billing → Manage subscription", before the renewal date. Cancelling does not request a refund; email hi@finalroundai.com for that.
Privacy

Privacy

LockedIn AI (privacy policy last updated 17 September 2026): session audio "is transcribed to text in real time by third-party speech-to-text providers (such as AssemblyAI)"; uploaded documents such as resumes are turned into text and "vector embeddings"; AI providers it names include Microsoft Azure OpenAI, ElevenLabs and Pinecone. It says "we do not sell your personal information", that deleting your account deletes this content, and that accounts inactive for over a year are deleted. The policy we read does not mention training AI models on your content.

Final Round AI (privacy policy last updated 8 October 2026): it collects "interview transcriptions, interviewer questions, and users responses", your resume and cover letter, and depending on features "session audio recordings, voice samples, screen captures". It says "Selected customer data may be used for AI Training Uses", meaning to "develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate, test, and improve" AI models, with separate consent where the law requires it.

Honest limits

When neither fits

  • The employer or test does not allow AI help. No tool fits then. Many companies say so in the invitation or candidate guide, and online assessments often have their own rules.
  • You need a short window and no renewal. Both sell plans that renew until you cancel; LockedIn's only one-time plan is Lifetime at $799.60.
  • You only want practice. Paying for a live copilot to rehearse is costly. Free practice tools exist, including our free AI mock interview in the browser, no account.
  • Your Mac is older than macOS 13.1. Neither lists a desktop app for it.
A third option, briefly

ClapAssist, if you want to pay once

ClapAssist, which publishes this page, is a desktop AI interview assistant for Mac and Windows. It listens to the video interview on your computer and shows an answer written from your resume. It is hidden from screen share on every plan, including the free 10 minutes, and every plan is paid once and never renews: Practice $14.99 for 120 minutes, Sprint $39.99 for 14 days unlimited, Job Hunt $119.99 for 30 days unlimited. Live call audio and screenshots are never stored; your resume, notes, the written recap and the interview transcript are saved to your account (transcripts can be switched off in Settings and deleted).

What it does not have, compared with these two: no phone app, no human helper, no question bank or practice debriefs inside the app, and it is not built for locked-down coding test sites. Some employers do not allow AI help in interviews, so check first. More: LockedIn AI alternative · Final Round AI alternative · every tool's prices.
